Fuel Makers has been awarded a $250,000 Wisconsin Energy Independence Fund grant

With a number of local and state officials in attendance, the announcement was made in Fond du Lac Thursday
, September 25th 2008 by Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Secretary Matt Frank. The grant funds are an integral part of Gov. Jim Doyle's "Clean Energy Wisconsin" strategy to strengthen the state's energy future.

The Fuel Makers grant is one of $7.3 million in grants awarded to firms dedicated to research, development, commercialization or adoption of new technologies. Doyle said the grants will "leverage $44.2 million in investments and create new jobs for Wisconsin families on farms, in forests, in research labs and for manufacturers.

The grant will be used by Fuel Makers to build a demonstration plant using local forest refuse to produce clean synthetic fuel.
